To Build a Custom Map for You
5 Easy Order Steps:
1. Decide what size of map that you would like. The size of your map will determine the cost. For example, 12” x 20” = 240 square inches. That’s 1.67 square feet x $85 = $141.67 + shipping.
2. How much area would you like covered? We use USGS data that are available in quadrant sections that are typically 11 km x 14 km (6.8 x 8.7 miles). The map shown to the left consists of 4 quadrants at a scale of 1:48,000 covering an area of about 16 x 14 miles
(224 square miles). If that’s about the size area that you would like, we can then scale it to your desired physical size. Although we cannot cut entire states (simply because of the thousands of quadrants that would have to be seamed together), we can cut very large area maps. For example, a map of 16 quadrants is not uncommon and would cover an area of almost 15,000 square miles!
3. What location? We would need to know what state, county and the specific area (perhaps a mountain peak, lake, valley, trail head or address).
4. We’ll send you a picture (via email) free of charge of the map that we intend on making for you along with the cost of the project.
