His second piece entitled “Bugling Elk” was perhaps even more realistic and beautiful. Many people wanted a door “just like that one”. This prompted Tom to purchase a machine to scan and duplicate the door and thus was able to produce “exact” copies of the originals.
Now, Tom can literally save months in time and drastically reduce labor costs to produce these signed and numbered pieces.
Tom also uses his woodworking and computer skills to carve detailed relief maps. These maps are presently used primarily as home décor but are also finding their way into the public sector as informational tools such as at visitor centers, in land and property rights litigation, in oil-coal-gas exploration and more. The appealing aspect is that anyone can now have a detailed carved map of their area of interest and as beautiful as a fine piece of artwork.
